2-IN-1 Single Phase Compressors for Small Workshops

What 2-in-1 means here

A 2-in-1 package pairs the compressor with a receiver on one frame, so the machine can be installed against a wall without a separate air tank and the associated pipework. It is the configuration most small workshops actually need: one power connection, one air outlet, one footprint.

The single phase constraint

Single phase supply caps motor size, which is why this family sits in the small end: our range covers 3.7 kW to 15 kW with free air delivery around 1.2 m3/min and working pressures of 10 and 12 bar. Above that, three phase is the practical route. If a workshop has three phase available and needs more than about 15 kW, a 2-in-1 single phase machine is the wrong starting point.

Consideration Practical effect
Supply capacity Check the breaker and cable, not just the socket
Starting current Single phase motors draw heavily at start; a soft starter helps
Receiver volume The 2-in-1 tank buffers cycling so the motor starts less often
Duty cycle Intermittent duty is normal at this size; continuous running needs a bigger machine
Air quality A small dryer and filter still matter if the air touches products or paint

Typical uses

  • Auto repair - impact tools, spray guns, tyre inflation.
  • Small fabrication - plasma cutting tables, clamping, blow-off.
  • Workshop and garage - general tools where portability and simple installation matter.

Keeping it running

At this size the consumables are simple and cheap, which makes neglect the main failure mode. Drain the tank, check the oil level, clean or replace the inlet filter, and listen for unusual cycling. A machine that starts far more often than it used to is usually telling you the receiver is waterlogged or the non-return valve is passing.
